XACTIV applies the latest technologies to the development of the embedded systems it develops for digital printing, medical devices and other related applications. XACTIV’s extensive product development and engineering experience in the embedded applications domain not only enables XACTIV to develop systems using the best-of-breed technologies, but also with optimum reliability and the fastest time to market.

From concept to pre-production, XACTIV designs embedded controllers based on RISC or DSP technologies. When a design calls for customized integrated electronics, XACTIV can develop an FPGA or ASIC or interface to an ASIC developed by a third party. Host communications are performed using any of the latest communications protocols such as USB 3.0 and FireWire (IEEE 1394).

XACTIV has a proven capability to apply digital imaging technologies to traditional and innovative applications or to further enhance an existing digital product with the latest printing and connectivity technologies. For example, XACTIV can web-enable new or existing products and/or enhance them with wireless connectivity.

XACTIV develops software in Java, C, C++, C#, or assembly language and is proficient in a variety of embedded operating environments such as embedded Linux, Windows CE, Android and VxWorks®, as well as custom real-time operating systems (RTOS) and task managers.

XACTIV provides complete product specification, architecture, concepting, design, development, and testing services for its customers to develop system controllers, process fixtures, and other embedded real-time systems such as Microsoft® Windows printer drivers, Windows printing and other I/O applications, and Android applications.
